The Dance Africa project is an initiative aimed at documenting cultural African dancethroughout the regions and countries of the diverse African continent. Among the merits of the project, a primarily focus is for creating a cultural arts media archive for future generations, as well accessible stock footage for filmography and events.
The aim of the project preview was to produce material that could assist in showcasing the idea of the overall project to potential sources of funding. In collaboration with the client, we facilitated the project planning and video production, as well as the final editing. The preview was cut from almost 4 hours of total footage. The footage was shot in Limpopo province, South Africa using a standard definition Sony Handycam, which was provided by the client for use. We have since aquired HD cameras for any future projects of this kind.
